Frontier Touring are delighted to announce award-winning singer-songwriter Kate Miller-Heidke's Child In Reverse Tour, taking place across September, October, November and December 2021! Joined by her six-piece band, the tour will see Kate play regional towns and cities across Australia, performing 15 shows over four months.
"It has felt like an eternity waiting for this tour to begin. I’ll be playing with my favourite musicians and we are bursting with joy and excitement at the prospect of hitting the road again after so long. We will be premiering some brand new material plus selecting some deep cuts from the back catalogue, as well as celebrating some old favourites.
Playing live has always been a pivotal part of what I do - the connection with you all and sharing loved moments in time and space. This one is going to be special."
Miller-Heidke will take to the stage in Cairns, Darwin, Sydney, Wollongong, Western Sydney, Newcastle, Bendigo, Melbourne, Yarra Valley, Warragul, Geelong, Hobart, Adelaide, Perth and Swan Valley.
‘With a range that extends beyond the operatic and into the stratospheric, Kate Miller-Heidke may be a vocal show pony but she is certainly not of the one-trick variety. She is equal measures quirky alt-pop princess, musical theatre songwriter, empowered protest singer, classical diva and yearning folk balladeer.’ – ★★★★★ The Adelaide Advertiser
Traversing the worlds of contemporary pop, folk, and opera, Kate has released five studio albums including the top 5 albums ‘O Vertigo!’, ‘Nightflight’, and ‘Curiouser’, which reached double platinum sales and featured the multi-platinum hits ‘The Last Day On Earth’ and ‘Caught In The Crowd’. Further hits from the multi-ARIA nominated vocal powerhouse include ‘Zero Gravity’, ‘Share Your Air’ feat.Passenger, ‘Sarah’ and ‘Ride This Feeling’.
Her fifth studio album, 2020’s Top 10 ARIA Album Child In Reverse (EMI Music Australia) – hailed as her most pop album to date – spawned the singles, ‘This Is Not Forever’, ‘Deluded’, ‘A Quiet Voice’, ‘Little Roots, Little Shoots’ and ‘Simpatico’ feat. Mallrat.
Trained as a classical singer at the Queensland Conservatorium, Kate’s work is as diverse as her voice. She has performed at the Metropolitan Opera in New York, dazzled in several roles for the English National Opera, won four Helpmann Awards for her debut opera as a composer, ‘The Rabbits’, written the music and lyrics (with her collaborator Keir Nuttall) to ‘Muriel’s Wedding: The Musical’ and represented Australia at Eurovision in 2019 with her original song ‘Zero Gravity’ - coming first in her semi-final and achieving a top ten placing in the Grand Final.
Staying busy throughout 2020, Kate performed a very special rendition of Whitney Houston’s ‘I Wanna Dance With Somebody’ for Mushroom Group and Visit Victoria’s The State Of Music, recorded at Kate’s home during lockdown and a first ever live performance of her single ‘Deluded’ for ABC TV’s The Sound. Kate appeared as the much loved ‘Queen’ on Network TEN’s The Masked Singer in 2020, performing spine-tingling renditions under the mask including, ‘Blinding Lights’, ‘Dancing On My Own’, ‘Paint It Black’ before her revealing finale of ‘I Will Survive’.
‘Impossible to pigeon-hole, the multi-talented artist offered an
evening that mixed pop delight and cabaret intrigue.’ – Limelight
Kate has been nominated for ARIAs in categories varying from Best Pop Release, Best Adult Contemporary Album, Best Classical Album, Best Cast Recording, Best Comedy Release and Best Australian Live Act.
‘Miller-Heidke always seems to have another vocal gear – and she works as effectively both in taking things up a notch, or moving into more delicate territory. Such was the case with the inevitable encore, her Eurovision entry, ‘Zero Gravity’, which took on an entirely new and poignant dimension....’ – InDaily
Frontier Members can access their pre-sale from Monday 21 June, before tickets go on sale to the general public on Wednesday 23 June. Secure tickets early to avoid missing out on this power-house voice!
Kate Miller-Heidke will also perform at two CELLAR DOOR SERIES shows, one at Victoria’s Rochford Wines and one at Western Australia’s Nikola Estate. Last week, global powerhouse Lorde announced her return to Australia and New Zealand in 2022 to incredible fanfare from music lovers around the country.
Today, the artist adds two new shows to her anticipated Solar Power Tour in February and March, to satisfy overwhelming demand from fans during the pre-sale period, which has now concluded. Lorde will now play back-to-back dates at Melbourne’s Sidney Myer Music Bowl on Saturday 12 and Sunday 13 March, before heading to Sydney’s Aware Super Theatre on Tuesday 15 and Wednesday 16 March, bringing her tally of Australian dates to six with stops in Brisbane and Perth.
Tickets for all shows will be available to the general public at 12 noon (local) on Monday 5 July.
For the first time in five years, Lorde will visit venues across her native New Zealand before touching down in Australia to deliver some of her biggest shows to date, as part of her global Solar Power World Tour. Taking in cities across North America, the United Kingdom and Europe, Lorde’s Solar Power dates sold out completely within minutes of going on sale to the general public earlier this week, after adding multiple dates due to fan demand.
Lorde will tour in support of her new ‘Solar Power’ single, which debuted earlier this month to fan and critical acclaim, and forthcoming album of the same name – out August 20 via Universal Music.
Penned with long-time collaborator and producer Jack Antonoff, ‘Solar Power’ is a refreshing dip back to organics, providing a new inspirational anthem for the Summer. Billboard said, “Solar Power’ is a fresh chapter in a riveting book, and Lorde fans should be thrilled to meet this new author”, while The Guardian called the song “… a distinct reinvention, one that gleefully puts a gap between Lorde and everyone else in terms of her creativity”.
Since its debut, the track has trended No.1 worldwide, accruing more than 60 million YouTube views, and topped Spotify’s Global and US Song Debut.
Of her third studio record, Lorde says, “The album is a celebration of the natural world, an attempt at immortalising the deep, transcendent feelings I have when I’m outdoors. In times of heartache, grief, deep love or confusion, I look to the natural world for answers. I’ve learnt to breathe out, and tune in. This is what came through.”
Known for her captivating on-stage presence and enthralling vocals, Lorde doesn’t just put on a show, she delivers a sensory experience. Tickets will move fast when they open to the general public on Monday, so make sure you get in quickly to secure your seats at what’s certain to be a highlight of 2022!
Ticket buyers can pre-order Lorde’s Solar Power album at an exclusive special price via the ticketing links below.
