DMA’S ANNOUNCE SPECIAL GUESTS FOR AUSTRALIAN TOUR 2026

TOUR FEATURES TWO HIT LADEN SETS EACH NIGHT, INCLUDING A SPECIAL HILLS END 10 YEAR ANNIVERSARY SET – TICKETS ON SALE NOW

SELF-TITLED ALBUM SET FOR RELEASE ON AUGUST 21 – PRE-ORDER HERE

Australian trio DMA’S have announced an exciting array of artists to open their forthcoming East Coast double-set headline tour.

DMA’S Australian Tour 2026 will commence on November 27 at Brisbane’s Fortitude Music Hall followed by a show at the Royal Botanic Gardens Melbourne on Saturday 28 November, as part of the Live at the Gardens series and wrapping up with a hometown show at the iconic Sydney Opera House Forecourt on December 3. Tickets on sale now at secretsounds.com and livenation.com.au.

Special guest for the Fortitude Music Hall, Brisbane and Sydney Opera House Forecourt shows, is LA band Automatic. Automatic make deviant pop music that cuts through the brainrot. Balancing irreverence with sharp commentary, they recently released their third album Is It Now?, building on the minimalist, danceable sound of earlier records Signal and Excess.

Melbourne’s Royal Botanic Gardens show will include hometown heroes, opener Sleepazoid, and the critically acclaimed Floodlights. Sleepazoid, an alt-rock quintet fusing the raw energy of grunge, the atmospheric depth of shoegaze, and the driving rhythms of post punk, released their EP, New Age, earlier this year.  Floodlights have swept all before them in recent years, the alt-rock 5 piece receiving rave reviews for their fresh take on Australian pub rock, as they continue to build a huge fan base both locally and across the globe.

DMA’S self-titled fifth studio album drops on August 21 via Wonderlick Recording Company/Sony Music Australia/RCA UK. Preorder / presave HERE.

Written and recorded between their own studio in Glebe, Sydney and LA, the album represents a defining moment for the band, showcasing the evolution of their signature anthemic sound with fresh sonic textures. It’s highlighted by the band co-producing most of the record with Grammy Nominated producer Lach Bostock (Mansionair), with help from Jimi Somewhere & Styalz Fuego.

Renowned for their captivating performances which have seen them play the world’s largest stages including Glastonbury, Coachella, Lollapalooza and Splendour in the Grass, this run of shows will see DMA’S bring their upcoming fifth album to life for Australian audiences. As part of the shows, the band will also play two headline sets each night, including a special Hills End anniversary set to celebrate the 10-year milestone of their debut record.

The band have shared another taste of the record with the album track Windows out today, listen HERE.

ABOUT AUTOMATIC:

LA band Automatic approached their third album with a dark sense of humour and a renewed sense of momentum. Izzy Glaudini (synths, vocals) and Halle Saxon (bass, vocals) believe messages of change land best with a backbeat and a cheeky groove – and on their new album Is It Now?, they ask us to confront the world’s oppressive structures with fresh urgency. For Is It Now?, Automatic collaborated with producer Loren Humphrey (Cameron Winter, Nice As Fuck, Arctic Monkeys), building on the minimalist, danceable sound of Signal and Excess. Where earlier records leaned more grid-based, this album was made live and loose – favouring long takes and a rhythm section that breathes. Perky grooves and affable pop melodies act as a Trojan horse for playful political commentary; it may take a few listens to realize that the pulsing bassline, stabbing synths, and sci-fi FX of ‘mq9’ are meant to echo the sound of drone bombs.

The band wanted the record to sit comfortably alongside artists like A Certain Ratio or Air. On ‘Don’t Wanna Dance,’ they nod to late-’70s British scenes shaped by Caribbean music, where dub collides with punk and funk slips into motorik grooves. ‘Smog Summer’ draws inspiration from Patrick Cowley (also an influence on ‘NRG’ from Excess), grounding its environmental message in a disco thrum. Unsparing in their critique – of automated warfare (‘mq9’), mindless consumerism (‘Is It Now?’), and the political influence of oil (‘The Prize’) – Is It Now? also offers ways forward: dancing, resisting, coming together, falling in love. Like its title, the album doesn’t claim to have all the answers, but it might inspire better questions – or at least get you dancing yourself awake while searching.
